Daintie Designs launched as a formal company in October of 2008. It is owned and operated by the blind, Jennifer Karen O'Hara. Jennifer has always had a love for crafts ever since she can remember. She has been known in her family to be the "card girl," as she has always made her own cards and mailed them to the people she loved on any occasion possible. She loved paper and glue and scissors from the very beginning. It was no coincidence that her first place of employment was Ben Franklin Crafts in Leesburg, VA. She then transferred to Ben Franklin Crafts in Novato, CA. Her last place of employment before she became blind was at Muench Yarns and Buttons in Petaluma, CA where she was the Operations Manager. So she has spent her career in the arts and she loved every minute of it. So when Jennifer became ill, you can read more about that at
www.jennohara.com , there was no stopping her from being away from crafts. Her love for papers grew as it did in the industry. She fell in love with all the scrapbooking supplies and knew she could still make beautiful cards even through she was blind most of the time. She is a true inspiration that dreams do come true. So this is how Daintie Designs began. It is still just the beginning for the company. It has grown so much that Jennifer's father, Ron Corkrey is building her a studio at her home. Once it is complete which should be soon, Jennifer will be able to offer more products than just cards. She is very excited about this new studio and all the dreams she has for the company because of it. Dare to dream. Jennifer always dreamt about having her own card company and even through trials and major tribulations, those dreams came true. Jennifer welcomes you to Daintie Designs.
